Lollies at school

I agree that lollies should be allowed at school.

Firstly, we should have lollies at school because kids would enjoy going to school if they knew they could bring lollies to school. This means kids won't be angry because they can eat lollies at school.

Secondly, they will like their teacher because they know that the teacher will let them eat lollies. This means you can eat lollies and sweets in class and build a good relationship with your teacher.

Lastly, if you bring lollies to school you won't get in trouble because it would be normal and acceptable. This means teacher's will have one less thing to worry about.

Therefore, these are the reasons why I firmly think children are allowed lollies at school.

Gum At School

Gum should definitely be allowed at school because gum is so tasty and great for blowing bubbles.

Firstly, you wouldn't need blu tack because gum is just as sticky. You don't have to waste your money on buying blu tack.

Secondly, you won't talk because you will be to busy chewing. This means you won't get in trouble for talking.

Thirdly it tastes good and you won't need any other food. This means you can eat your gum for the whole day and save money on buying lunch.

Lastly if you have bad breath or forget to brush your teeth it will do the trick. This means people won't tease you for having unbearable breath.

Therefore, we should totally be allowed to chew gum at school.

Introducing Setu

My name is Setu. I come from Lalomanu in Samoa. In Lalomanu we eat fish, taro and chicken with rice. My favourite colour is red, I like to swim in the deep blue sea. My last name is Col. I go to Dawson Primary School.

Playgrounds At School

Children should be allowed to play on the playground at school.

Firstly, kids should be allowed to play on the playground because its not a law to say you can't. This means children can have fun without breaking the law.

Secondly, playgrounds make you get more fit. This means you will not become obese  and you will have muscles.

Lastly,  you get to go outside and enjoy the fresh air. Getting outside lets us release energy rather than being stuck inside all day.

Daffy The Goose

It was our turn to do cooking and gardening and that's when I saw her, Daffy the goose. She was shy and I was scared. I was so scared I thought she was going to bite my fingers off. But then I was not felling scared and I'm sure she was not felling scared too. I tried to pat her on the back and she let me but she kept running away. Next I gave her some apples that she could feast on. She was just ripping them apart, I pretty sure she liked them.

Then Miss Karaka wanted to pat the goose too but she was also scared.

Next I gave her some water and and then I drummed for her. She jumped out of her compost box and wanted to play hide and seek. Maybe she didn't want to listen to my drumming?

Fly Lizards

DRACO LIZARDS                                         Fly lizards are just like dragons but smaller. These fly lizards don't really fly, they glide. Their actual name is Draco also known as mini dragons.

Draco lizards have long thin skin flaps under their arms, the rest of their body has rough scales and are very tiny. Draco lizards also have a  long skin flap piece under their chin.

Draco lizards mainly live in the rain forests of southeast Asia.

Draco lizards can grow up to 8 inches long, they can also glide up to 30 feet in the air. Their gliders are also known as their wings.

These reptiles are really special so I don't think you should kill them. They really do look like dragons.

DOGS

DOGS                                                                                                                                                                                           A dog is a mammal, some dogs belong to the wolf family such as German Shepherds and Huskies. I wonder if there could even be a German Husky?

All dogs have cute eyes and a tail that they chase all the time. Dogs have whiskers like cats. Other dogs are different colours shapes and sizes.

You can find dogs in homes where they are nice and warm, and on farms where they gather sheep. This type of dog is could a sheep dog. In the pound dogs are where you can see dogs who have been found on the streets and they get dropped off to the pound waiting to get a home. In the pet shop you will find all sorts of dogs You might have to take your dog to the vet one day if they become ill or get injured. Unfortunately some dogs can't be saved and therefore they are put down.

All dogs bark, some herd sheep or help the blind. At the airport there are sniffer dogs to make sure that passengers don't carry drugs in to our country.

Dogs are useful, soft, cuddly and helpful and they're nice to have around.

Mummies

Definition/Description
The most common place where you would find mummies is Egypt. Most dead animals and people were preserved in Egypt which means that they kept the body as fresh as possible.

Question:
Have you ever wondered how a mummy was made?

Process:
The mummy is put onto a bed, then someone will wash the body to make it look clean and fresh then let the body dry. When the organs are removed they were put into a jar. After wards they would use a hook and attach it to the brain. The brain would be yanked out through the nose.

As the person is taking out the organs they would leave the heart in the body because the heart is important. Meanwhile they would stuff cloths or saw dust into the body to replace the organs. After 40 days of being left to dry they would massage fresh smelling oils onto the body to make it smell nice. Next the only thing they had to do was put them into a coffin and then the coffin into a tomb.

Outcome:
Nowadays people are discovering mummies and from these remains they are able to learn about how the Egyptian people lived and what they looked like.

Swimming

Every Friday we have swimming lessons. We go to the Otara pools. We have three people who teach us how to swim. My friend Peter says that he hates swimming because the water goes in his mouth. I like swimming because when it is hot it's like you're in a glass of water.
